James R. Morales, MD
James R. Morales, MD, board-certified in sports medicine, has been the medical director of Shore Sports Medicine since 2003. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. Dr. Morales also completed his sports medicine fellowship at UMDNJ, where he was the team physician for Rutgers University and Princeton University.
Dr. Morales is currently the team physician for Monmouth University in Long Branch and the Toms River Schools. Dr. Morales has worked with athletes of all levels—from current professional athletes to amateur participants.
Shore Sports Medicine also works with non-athlete patients or any patient with a muscular, joint or bone problem—from sprains and strains to back and neck pain to complicated injuries or fractures.
Dr. Morales is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Association.
He has coached and competed in wrestling at a national level, but also enjoys watching and playing other sports. His other interests include reading and spending time with family.
